Valentine's Project: Series 2 of 7

For Day 2 of the Valentine's Project Series, I have chosen to dedicate this to all my friends and readers in the New England area, You all have been under a blanket of snow for some time, so to bring you some warmth, welcome to Thailand!

This cuddly cub is a Clouded Leopard, indigenous to Southeastern Asia, primarily found in Thailand.  I met my first Clouded Leopard, named Thai, at the Smithsonian National Zoo, and it was love at first sight.  I am fortunate to live in walking distance from the zoo, and the Smithsonian zoo is free to all!  If you are ever in D.C. I highly recommend a visit.

The Smithsonian National Zoo has an extensive Species Survival Plan to help save some of the most endangered species in the world, and Thai is on that list.

Find different ways to protect these endangered animals, and it doesn't have to be hard. Think about what you buy, how you consume, and how you dispose.  The bag in the picture is handmade in Cambodia from recycled cement bags from Thailand.  If you have a chance, pack your bags and visit Thai's homeland, marvel in the beauty of Southeast Asia, and bring back an Elephant Brand bag!

Happy Giving,

Serena
